quickie from work... *hee*

So I’ve been a total dumbass putz in updating with any kind of real content to my lj of late. Not 100% sure why that is, but I’ve got a few ideas…

Anyway, here’s what I can think of…in bullet formation, of course… *g*

• So I’ve been working on getting my backlogged fic finished. It’s not quite working as planned. I keep getting new plot ratties, and they’re so damned cute and adorable, I just “cain’t say no!”
  
  And speaking of the writing to do list, here’s what I want/need to finish before we head up to Vangroovy in 2 weeks *eeeek*

  Now, there are some other stories I’d like to get started/completed as well, but these are the main ones to get finished and fucking off my hard drive/out of my brain, you know?
  
  
• Yes, in two weeks we leave for Vangroovy for 9 days. It’s time for Timeless Destinations. No, it’s not Gatecon UK, but hopefully that’ll be a better possibility next year.
  
  It’ll be wonderful to see some familiar faces up in Vangroovy in a couple weeks. shatterpath and I are volunteers for stage crew, and unless I misunderstood the last email from Auntie Kewz, I am doing something different this year. No, I’m not going to be on the camera this year. Instead, at my own suggestion, I’m going to be Auntie Kewz’ TooIcky [2IC] this year. It’ll be a lot of work, but I think it’ll be worth it in the long run.
  
  And several actors from last year will be there again, actors that know about Stuffy Guard. Including Ellen Dubin and Dan Payne. Dan did donate stuffies last year, along with Aaron Douglas, who will not be there, which totally sucks. Particularly since I had a really good truly tasteless joke for him, too. *pout*
  
  
• Speaking of Stuffy Guard… Donations are pretty much zilch from people this year. We have some stuffies donated after the con last year for “seed stuffies,” and we have had a lot of household stuff that’s been donated between our household and amyrayh’s mom’s place. So our numbers will look good, but not a lot of people getting involved. I’m hoping they’ll be more involved actually at the con, you know? That tends to happen a lot…
  
  
• We bought a badass cooler at Walmart a few weeks ago, and picked it up from layaway last weekend. It’s the size of a normal cooler, but has an option to be plugged into a cigarette lighter or a wall socket, because it can be chilled. So we’re taking it up to con with us, for sodas, lunch meat, cheeses, etc. And we’re eating pretty damned lean at con, anyway. Money is uberly tight this year [when is this not the case?]… *sigh*
  
  
• Two weeks ago, on 3 July 2006, shatterpath called from the farm to say that she’d gotten us a kitten. A little male tabby that we eventually named Gabriel, nicknamed Gabe, Growlypants, Whineypants, LittleMan. He spent the bulk of the first two weeks down at the farm with her, getting his earmites dealt with. We still have meds to deal with, but it’s down to the 1 dose every 2 weeks thing for a bit, then just when needed. He’s a chatty little fucker! But he’s also a cuddlebutt, which I utterly adore!
  
  Yesterday was his first day free-roaming in the house. He hasn’t gotten the crap beaten out of him yet by Leo or Stasia, but there’s been hissing going on. Leo’s hissed a couple times and swatted at him, but mainly Gabe hisses at Leo, even when he’s wanting to make friends. *rolls eyes* He’s such a goober! And Stasia hisses at Gabe. She’s the wildcard to watch in all of this…
  
  I’ve got pics of Gabe at home, so will have to post those tonight when I get home.
