I apologize in advance if I am a raging bitch at all over the next week or so. I am kind of cold turkey quitting soda as of today.
See, I started hitting the soda really hard the last couple of months, for a variety of reasons that I don't want to get into rn, and I need to scale back. But I don't scale back like most people. I need a "Holy shit!" desperation moment to do it usually. For example, it took bad teeth and exposed nerves to kill the vast majority of my candy addiction. And the last time I curbed my soda intake was when I had my kidney stone.
No, I don't have a kidney stone or anything like that. *knock on wood* But soda is my last wholly unchecked vice, and I've been drinking too much soda lately, so it needs to stop.
I'm in the process of gathering up my tea paraphernalia, including my iced tea maker, and I'm going to work on transitioning to tea and coffee for my caffeine intake. I'm hoping that the lack of HFCS in my system will make some major changes.
I'm hoping that this will allow me to get past the worst of it and eventually be able to enjoy an occasional soda. My sole exception will be a Coke or a 7Up on car trips due to carsickness.
Anyone who knows me will know just how big a step this is for me, but it's one I need to make. So just be patient if I get moody or bitchy for the next little while while I detox the HFCS and all, okay?
