Today I am grateful for timing.
The winter rains have started in the Pacific Northwest, as I’m sure I’ve stated before. While I do love the winter rains, it can be a bit tricky and/or daunting to move about in them sometimes. Particularly when one doesn’t have an umbrella [though we’re working on amending that issue ASAP].
So, there were several times that I had to go outside today to get something done -- taking Will to school, going to McDonald's, coming home from McDonald's, picking up Will from school, going to Figaro's for dinner, picking up dinner from Figaro's -- and I was lucky enough to miss the worst of the downpours each time. Woot!
Wait!
Picking up dinner from Figaro's actually shouldn't be in that grouping. Waiting over to the little strip mall on the other side of the alley to get dinner was fine. But for the five-ish minutes we were in the store to get our pizza and breadsticks for dinner, another downpour wave blew through, and Will and I got rather wet coming back to the house. I was not impressed, though I was laughing my ass off at the divine comedy of the situation. *sigh*
But, it ended up being a lovely evening anyway. Will got to work on his ongoing Star Wars fanfic that he's been working on since I was here last month [SO proud of him for getting the writing bug from his mother and me!]. Lorre and I watched Beowulf, which was fascinating! And y'know, there was nekkid animated Russell Crowe and Angelina Jolie, so who was I to complain? *veg* And we got some crocheting done while watching the movie. It was all good.
Now it's time to go watch Despicable Me with Will again, do a little more crocheting, and then head bedward.
