This and that...

So, after a rocky start fraught with miscommunication issues, amyrayh,
shatterpath, and I got on our way to Tacoma's 2010 Greek Festival @ Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church around noon-ish. It was pretty easy to find, even with the detour/reroute, and we ended up parking literally right around the block from the church. Woot! The food was absolutely fantastic! We brought home a good chunk of it, too, which ended up as dinner. We got to see some teenagers doing traditional Greek dances, which was great. The church itself is smaller than Saint Demetrios, but I like this one better. The whole festival felt more like a neighborhood BBQ or block party. In fact, the Saint Nicholas Greek Festival ended up better overall, compared to the Saint Demetrios Greek Festival we've gone to for the last several years. Plus? Tacoma is closer than Seattle. On the way home, we hit Tacoma Boys for some fruit and veg that we need for various meals this week. While there, I found a Calypso Black Cherry Lemonade, which reminded me A LOT of the Voodoo Rain MoJo Luv that I had when I first went to Angel Island back in 2000. In fact, my first bottle of water from Angel Island is in that very bottle. Sadly, the MoJo Luv is no longer available, which sucks, because it was quite yummy... Anyway, after that, we came home and pretty much were lazy the rest of the night. amyrayh and
shatterpath turned in relatively early, but I'm still kind of awake at this point. *sighs*

Tomorrow is going to consist of being a kitchen witch for a while as we all futz with my avgolemono recipe and do some experimentation with it, and I'm gonna take out an hour or two for my Artist's Date [for The Artist's Way that I'm working on] to do some coloring outside with my coloring books and my iPod. This will most likely happen while amyrayh and
shatterpath watch the Seahawks game. I hope it's nice out tomorrow, so I can sit outside. I should probably also get some writing done tomorrow. And laundry. And finish my exercises for The Artist's Way. And do the storycrafting chat...

Next weekend is the 9th Annual Dungeness Crab & Seafood Festival in Port Angeles. Sunday @ 1300 will be the Birds of Prey Demonstration presented by the Northwest Raptor & Wildlife Center in Sequim, Washington. The crab feed, while damned tempting, is $25/plate for "Steamed or Chilled Whole Dungeness Crab With Corn on the Cobb and Dungeness Organic Coleslaw". We can get all those same things and do a boil for the three of us for less than that. But we'll see how much the crabs are for sale there. If they're too expensive, we'll be hitting Central Market on the way home to pick up some Dungeness for dinner.

30 Day TV Meme :: Day One :: Favorite episode?
My favorite episode, hands down, is La Belle Dame Sans Merci [03x13]. I tried to find some video clips of this episode online, but no dice. Damn it! This ep is my favorite because it features Alex so prominently [tho' there's no Rachel at all, which is a bummer] and has my favorite of the three actresses to play Gramma Rose: Esther Rolle. The women who played Gramma Rose in S2 and S4 were crap compared to Rolle's Gramma Rose. The chemistry between Rolle and Robbi Chong was fantastic; I was very convinced that their characters were related. And all of the Creole background and history in this episode were phenomenal. I adored this episode so much, I wrote a paper about it for one of my college philosphy classes on media. Then again, I think I also included information on it in a paper I did on Voodoo for another college class. *sighs happily* I think tomorrow I'm going to have to pull out my DVDs and rewatch this ep again...
