So
the_thinking_pagan has started doing a version of the Friday Five last week. Or at least, I only noticed it last week. So here we go...
Questions for 17 September
- What secular thing do you find religious meaning in? I think there can be religious/sacred meaning in everything, sacred or secular. I mean, a lot of things that are viewed as religious/sacred have their origins in secular items and rituals. So for me, I really try to find the sacred in everything, the connection to the divine.
- When does your religion matter most to you? Well, I know it should matter most at all times, but I fall into that typical human failing of turning to my beliefs most when I am at my lowest points.
- What role does divination play in your religious practices? When I am regularly practicing my religion/beliefs, divination is a big part of it. But I've gotten quite lazy in that aspect of my spirituality. I'm working to fix that.
- How do you meet other pagans in your area? I really don't. I tend to stick to my family and friends only for the most part. I have issues with group/coven settings.
- Are there pagan-friendly businesses in your area? Oh definitely. There's a great metaphysical shop within walking distance of my home.
Questions for 24 September
- What does "desecration" mean to you? Willful destruction of something that is sacred or important to someone else.
- If you could teach Christians one thing about your religion, what would it be? We're not all Satanists or involved in "the dark arts".
- Do you like public pagan events like Pagan Pride Day? I do like the concept, even tho' I've actually never been to a Pagan Pride Day. I'd like to rectify that, but I have issues with crowds.
- What witchcraft- or magic-themed tv shows or movies do you like? Hmm... The Craft, Practical Magic, Poltergeist: the Legacy, some eps of BtVS, Kindred: the Embraced... Well, that's what I can think of off the top of my head...
- Is the autumn equinox relevant to your religion? Oh definitely. And I celebrated it in style this year with a free One Card Tarot Draw that was a smashing success.
