Corvallis Trip :: Day 5

I think everyone slept in this morning. I didn’t get up until nearly 0900. Shatterpath had already been up and gotten our morning sodas. Woot! So far, today’s been pretty damned quiet. We’d talked yesterday about hitting the river again, but no one really had the energy for that. Lorre did laundry while
shatterpath napped, which gave me and will_i_am_oak the opportunity to start watching Rose Red, which Lorre has been pushing me to watch for a long time now. We got through the first DVD before Lorre got back and
shatterpath got up. Actually, we’d gotten started into the second DVD when the DVD player started acting up, so we had to shut it down, and that’s when
shatterpath actually got up. We might hit the park later on, and we might not. I think it’s a matter of energy levels and, other than will_i_am_oak, no one really has much for energy levels. So it’s just a lazy Sunday afternoon.
Dinner was fantabulous. The pulled pork that Lorre had in the slow cooker yesterday while we were at the river became some EXCELLENT tacos, as did the garlicky shrimp she thawed and cooked. We stuffed ourselves on dinner and then had chocolate cake with cherry pie filling and homemade whipped cream for dessert.
Amusingly enough, my period started today. I’ve been feeling crampy and such for nearly a week now, so I’m not really surprised that it’s finally happened. Altho’ I am quite happy that my body decided to wait until AFTER the trip to the river. Juju is definitely at work here. *chuckles*
Since Lorre has to work tomorrow and will_i_am_oak is spending the day with his grandparents, we’re going to head home a day earlier than planned. Which is okay. I mean, we could stay until Tuesday, but all we’d do tomorrow is sit around here, being lazy. And I know that
shatterpath wants to sleep in her own bed. I certainly wouldn’t mind my own bed. *chuckles* And I’m kinda missing the booties…
I’ve done remarkably well with the lack of internet this week. We’ve had stuff to do, so I haven’t minded it nearly as much as I might have thought. Then again, I went 5 days without internet while on the family reunion trip, so it’s not like I’ve never done that before…

- Sleeping in late with a lovely breeze
- Lorre’s good cooking for breakfast
- Watching Rose Red finally with will_i_am_oak
- Cross breezes [which should technically be listed for like every single day!]
