Where the hell did November go?
Srsly? Where did it go?
Oh, that's right. NaNoWriMo sucked it all up. Well, NaNo, illnesses, job stress, and a Thanksgiving weekend visit from will_i_am_oak and his mom. Other than having to work on Friday, it was a lovely weekend with my boy and his mom. Saturday, I finally got to take him to the Reptile Zoo, which he absolutely adored! We got to see amyrayh get the Egyptian Banded Cobra and the Sumatran Cobra to not only flare their full hoods, but attack the glass at her. Now in the Egyptian Banded Cobra's defense, he was shedding and pissy, but still... The snakes weren't nearly as active for me, but the place was fucking PACKED like I've never seen before. Sunday was a lazy day at home. Well, maybe not lazy. There was the football game,
shatterpath & the boy setting up the tree and some outdoor lights, and then amyrayh took the boy and his mom to see 2012. I did some frantic writing on my NaNo novel, and then we all watched Shaun of the Dead before heading to bed.
Work was work. I ended the month in a fucking spectacularly craptastic way. I won't get into details as I don't need the stress. And then I came home, did a little more writing on my NaNo novel and ended up calling out for today as a migraine started kicking my ass. I ended NaNo with 31595 words, 21041 of which was specifially for Laikhostra. A far cry from 50k, but respectable, given the stresses and distractions of the month.
In other news, I got my Inner Child Secret Santa package on Saturday from lawgrrl_23. I'd planned to wait until at least my birthday on Friday to open it, but just couldn't wait any longer. Will post a picture of my haul tomorrow. Suffice it to say, the presents were fucking perfect! My inner child positively squealed at all the sparkly and purple! So thank you, thank you, thank you, lawgrrl_23! I loved it!
And before I forget... On Thursday, 3 December 2009 at 2200 EST, allaine77 is going to be interviewing me again during the first part of his 2 part series on femslash archving. It would be awesome if you could listen in! I had an absolute blast when he interviewed
shatterpath and me about CSI: Miami & our involvement with DuVista among other things. And you'll get the added bonus of hearing
shatterpath read the anwers that ralst pre-wrote, since she's the other person being interviewed with me. Can't wait for this one to happen!

Our cards this year are primarily "generic", but there are some that are Christmas specific [because that's how we bought them at the time].
