  • Okay, so the subject line might not be an exactly verbatim quote, but it's what I remember as my favorite line from 2012, which we went to see this afternoon. First off? When the FUCK did matinees suddenly cost $7.25??? I remember when they were $5 and less... Anyway, the movie was awesome.
shatterpath cackled madly when they destroyed her former stomping grounds. And I was beside myself with laughter when they showed that the South Pole had shifted to be the middle of Wisconsin. Like right about the Wausau/Stevens Point area. I nearly fucking lost it right then and there. Not to mention the bit from Jackson's book about everyone having relatives in Wisconsin. The movie was definitely disaster flick porn, as amyrayh had heard it described the other day, and I'm really glad we saw it on the big screen for the first time. This is definitely one I want to own on DVD. I may go more in depth for a review tomorrow, but suffice it to say, you really should go see this movie. Awesome! Definitely glad we went to see it...

  • Speaking of movies... I'm seriously starting to want to see James Cameron's Avatar. y'all. First saw an extended preview on TV while
shatterpath and I caught up on this week's Glee [which was fun]. And then we saw a similar preview today when we went to the movie. Really want to see it, yo!

  • A quick comment on my TV shows this week. Glee was pretty decent this week. I definitely have thoughts on several things brought up in this week's ep, particularly related to Sue, Quinn, and the Diva Off, but they're not going to be happening here. And Private Practice? The only comment I have right now that I'll say is this... "Fuck you, Shonda Rhimes! I don't need to have THAT going through my brain when thinking about Addison! Damn you! I don't need plot bunnies like THAT!" *sighs*

  • So over here, geekgrrllurking was talking about superstitions yesterday because of it being Friday the 13th and all. Below is my response to her question about what superstitions we have...Hmmm... A lot of my superstitions have kind of become rituals over the years [and vice versa, I suppose]. Let me see if I can remember them...
    • I avoid cracks, not to keep from breaking my mother's back because the vindictive part of me would WANT to do so, but to keep from having bad luck.
    • If someone sneezes three times in a row, I don't bless for all 3 because that's bad luck.
    • Anytime I'm going up or down stairs, I have to count them, particularly ones that I use often. This kind of came out of the "I have my arms full of stuff and can't see in front of me, so how many steps till the top/bottom?" ideology.
    • Similarly, when walking down a flight of stairs, I have this image in my head the whole way of me falling to my death down said flight of stairs. No matter the size of the flight of stairs or how structurally safe/sound it is.
    • I try not to walk under ladders, as I feel it's hugely bad luck.
    • I have a wish that I make on all items you can make a wish on [shooting stars, wishing wells, birthday candles, etc]. I've been making the same wish for well over half my life now, consistently. And I've never told anyone this particular wish, because if I do, it won't come true. And I want this one to come true.
I'm sure there are probably others, but these are the primary ones that automatically come to mind...

  • This is all
ravenari's fault, but here goes... A LONG time ago, I set these up, but haven't looked at them in ages. But you know what? I'm curious what people will say... So if you're so inclined, please feel free to fill out the info on my johari & nohari windows. And please be honest. I'm a big girl, I can take it.

  • NaNo is going relatively well. I'm getting more new material written now, which is awesome. But I need bed now.
shatterpath made me a deal that if I got the muses to put out and let me get 2000 words written tonight, she'd buy me chocolate tomorrow.

  • And yes, I know I haven't posted about the Jeff Dunham show from Thursday night yet. I'm getting there. We'll do that tomorrow...

  • Don't forget to sign up for the Inner Child Secret Santa 2009. The signups are on LJ and DW. You have until 11:59pm PST on Monday, 16 November 2009 to sign up if you want to play...

  • And if you've a hankering for writing some holiday femslash, head over over here and sign up for the FemSlash Advent Calendar :: Dead of Winter 2009. It's a lot of fun and you'll get 30 days of yummy femslashy goodness in just a few weeks...

  • And before I forget... Thank you to
elmyraemilie for the awesome Pay It Forward cookbook I got in the mail today. I had no idea what that package was when I got it until I got home and opened it up. I can't wait to start making some of the recipes. And if any of them are spicy, I won't eat them, but I know people who will enjoy that, so will still make them for my friends...

Okay, on that note, I need to get the fuck to bed. I was up WAAAAAAY too late last night... And I'm feeling kinda nauseous atm... WTF is that all about?
