It's raining, it's pouring...
...the old man is snoring!
Well, maybe not the old man, but I'll be snoring soon enough.
My NaNo word count is now at 2411/50000. Kind of abysmal, but I'm not completely giving up hope yet. Just changing my tactics a bit, that's all.
Besides, ardvari is here, so my writing may be a little erratic this weekend. Her flight in was pretty much on time, which was good. We went to Seattle Art Museum, aka SAM, today for the first time. There was a great exhibit called S'abadeb-The Gifts: Pacific Coast Salish Art and Artists, which had some fucking beautiful artwork! And then we wandered around some of the other exhibits, too. I loved the iconography and religious paintings, as I always do, and the Inopportune: Stage One, which was a series of full-sized cars used to simulate a crash. Quite fascinating, especially with all of the sparkly lights on them. And then there was Some/One, which is this fucking beautiful HUGE ASS robe made of DOG TAGS! Fucking thousands, if not millions, of them! You could see the dogtags, and I really had to fight the urge to touch. It was a stunningly breathtaking and brilliant piece!
After that, we headed back up to Pike Place Market, but my knee was bothering me [and I was overheating], so I headed down to the car to wait while shatterpath & ardvari got veggies for Pickles. And then, we made our way to the ferry dock, and hit the ferry home. I got to see a bunch of seals or possibly sea lions. I'm not sure, they were quite a ways away from. Plus? On 2 of the 3 buoys we passed, there were sea lions [and I think one harbor seal] sitting on them! Very kewl! The third one was covered in cormorants. *squee*
On the drive home from the ferry dock in Bremerton, we hit Perfect World, where I got a couple new cards/postcards, 2 new books, some lavender cone incense, & Doggie got a book on the whole 2012 prophecy thing. We're kinda into that, doncha know... While there, we learned from the woman that owns the place that her big old 20" [approx] CRT monitor had completely crapped out today. So shatterpath offered the old 13" flat screen that we have extra from her old computer. It'll be heading over there tomorrow. And then we came home, and ardvari got to meet Pickles.
Tomorrow's agenda appears to be heading back to Seattle so we can hit UW so ardvari can get some info. We're also gonna hit Babeland, so we can cash in on the Voting Feels Good promo to get a free Silver Bullet vibe for voting. Booya! We'll probably also hit Edge of the Circle, since it's like a couple doors down from Babeland. And we're intending to hit the Seattle Aquarium, which means I get to see Barney & Q, my harbor seal boyfriends again! Yay!
But for now, I need to get some sleep and hope that my knee doesn't keep me up all night...
