Yay Play
The show went beautifully; for a Wednesday night we had quite a crowd. I was really excited to see so many people there. The audience really like Playboy of the Western World and I will be so sad to see this play end. I ran to the dressing room and peeled off my costume. I could feel the sweat start to pour off of me. It was disgusting. I went to sit in the green room (our lounge) and as I was sitting down, I look up and in the door way I see MY MOTHER!
I jumped up and ran to her. I gave her the biggest hug and I had tears in my eyes; mom had come to see the first night of my first college play! It's so cheesey but I don't care; I'm so happy that she came. I introduced her to Cindy and we took some pictures. She loved the show; she had always loved the play itself and had never seen it performed before tonight. I'm so proud to have been in the show.
After mom left, we whipped out the champagne and everyone toasted to the first night. We toasted "Yay Play!" and drank. I don't give a rat's arse about champagne. It was cheap and I don't care for it much, but I had it anyway. We went up to the mainstage and did the Dog Party.
Dog Party:
Everyone must bring a present or else you can't play. I brought a thesaurus; and the gift doesn't need to be anything special, but people bring dvds and cds anyway. We have a plastic bowl with a set of dice in it. Pass the bowl around and roll the dice. If you roll 7 or 11, you go to the middle of the circle and pick a gift. If you roll doubles, you get another turn. Otherwise, you get nothing. The bowl is passed around until all the presents are picked (not everyone will have a gift) and a player can have more than one.
Phase Two:
Everyone with a gift opens it. Show the gift off and put it in front of you so everyone can see it.
Phase Three: (This part is REALLY intense)
Set a timer for 10 minutes and then pass the bowl around as fast as you can. Roll the dice and if you get a 7 or 11, you can grab any gift you want. If you roll two ones (snake eyes) you grab a gift and give it to someone else. If you roll anything else, you get nothing.
I got CandyLand on the first phase. I was so excited! During phase 3 a lot of people stole the 'Robin Hood:Men in Tights' dvd and the Irish music cd. I stole a pair of slippers so the dog party was good for me: CandyLand and brightly colored slippers. Cindy got this Zac Efron 2008 calender. Damnit, there goes my Christmas present for her. :) lol
But the show overall was awesome and I can't wait to do it...in less than 20 hours from now. I will go to sleep. Night night.
