Okay:
The plane ride was fun, in the dark. Seth and I enjoyed ourselves.
We got to Oakland and Uncle Jono picked us up at the airport. We drove to his house, ten minutes away. It is such a nice house, on a hill, with a view, bungalow style baby! I met Uncle Joe (Jono's husband) and he know ASL which made Seth's weekend a million times more enjoyable. Mom and I shared a bed and in the morning, Uncle Andy (the youngest of the Reardon children as well as the only Republican and he's a fire chief) was there, drinking coffee. Mom and Jono drove to the airport and got her rental car, a big red SUV. I'm suprised she could even see over the damn wheel. :)
We all drove to San Francisco to see Meredith and Marilyn, "M&M's" he calls it.. Jono's lesbian friends, who were housing Aunt Laurel and Gram. San Francisco was just beautiful and foggy. =) Their house is on a steep hill and the house itself is wonderful in every way. They have two Airdale Terriers (Ida and Kip) and the kitchen is big enough for six people to cook. Marilyn is a mechanic and Meredith is a caterer. She was cooking the food for the wedding. I love them both soooo much and they want me back next summer to visit colleges. *tear*
I met the Reardon's family friend, Sandy Bailey, also a lesbian. She was so..."dandy". Kinda quirky and fun, good company. I loved all the people I met and saw. Just loved them. We packed up all the chicken legs (soon to be thawed in a bathtub at Best Western)We all drove up in the cars. Captain Andy and I teased Mom the whole way up to Eureka:
Andy: Hey Julia, how far do you think the car will go if we drive off this little cliff here?
Me: I dunno. Couple hundred feet? If you give it some gas, we might actually FLY off the cliff.
(car swerves)
Mom: ANDY I SWEAH TA GAWD!!!! DON'T YOU DEH!!
We got to Best Western and Aunt Ellen, Don, Ceara, and Dana were there. We ate at a Chinese Buffet place. Zack showed up with Ame and two of her kids.
Okay...I rambling:
THE WEDDING:
It was in a park forest thing. I kept thinking a bunch of freaky BushFans would come busting in a ruin the wedding...so yes, I actually brought my switchblade and kept it in my pocket. Yes, I was ready to stab any crashers that came to disrupt the beautiful day. Andrea (my cousin) and Kellie (her wife) had a good wedding. Uncle Joe did the ceremony. Quinn (Joe's son, Jono's stepson, Andrea's stepbrother) was in the wedding. He was really cool, just Seth's age, a day older. So kewl. I stood there watching this nice ceremony and thinking, "How could anyone want to stop these weddings? Two people love each other and want to marry, what's the matter?"
Afterwards, I hung out with Ceara, Dana, and Zack as they sucked down their beer and I my coke. We all ate dinner and the cake was delicious.
Okay, nothing much happened the rest of the weekend and sometime this week, I will get pictures up on Photobucket. I love it all so much.
