Cat help please.
In case you dont know and you will need to know this- Luke and Lucy are 8 year old twin orange tiger stripe cats. They have spent their entire lives together and hardly ever fight. EVER!
Welllll last weekend Andy and Brad installed a cat window seat at the large window overlooking the back deck. For a few days Luke and Lucy wanted nothing to do with it and we all figured oh well waste of money but then....two days ago Luke started using it to watch the birds and nap. Lucy noticed this and wanted to see what she was missing. Obviously she was missing alot because this is where the problem begins.
Luke would be on the seat and Lucy would jump up and push him off and he would fall to the floor. 5 mins later another thump when Luke jumped back up and shoved Lucy off. After an afternoon full of thumping noises and hisses I called Andy at work and told him about it. He said he would pick another window seat up after work. He did and we installed it last night. Its about 2 or 3 inches to the left of the original one. It is the same kind of seat, same color, installed by the same people with the same exact view of the deck. Did this help?! Oh fucking hell NO!!
All morning they are both being insane!! Luke is on the right seat and Lucy jumps up and wants on that one so she pushes Luke over to the left one. Luke gets pissy, goes back to the right one and pushes Lucy off to the floor. Lucy comes back up and pushes Luke to the left seat again. Luke is really not pleased. Luke bites Lucy on the tail and all hell breaks loose and I have to seperate them. After an hour I let them out of their seperate rooms and it wasnt 10 mins until I hear THUD and run into the family room to see Luke on the right seat and Lucy on the floor looking up at him like ITS ON NOW SON!!!! And boom back at fighting again!!
WTF?!?! Why wont one of them use the left seat?!?! What is the issue?! Are we going to have to take both of the seats down before one of the cats hurts the other one?! Why are they fighting over the right seat when the left is identical in every single fucking way?!? What do I need to do here to end this constant fighting over the right window seat?!
Im afraid one of them is going to get hurt by their fighting and scratching or one is going to get hurt being pushed to the ground.
