Food is all assigned for feeding the relief workers tomorrow night. One worry is getting into the area. The main road there is blocked and you can't get in without ID showing you are a resident. The area I am going to is where my mother grew up so she is going with me and knows some back ways in if I can't convince the National Guard to let us pass. I'm finding that it is complete luck of the draw if you can get in or not. It just depends on which guard you get and how strict they want to be about the rules of letting people in. I'm only taking one vehicle so maybe that will work. People that are trying to bring in caravans seem to have a more difficult time. Plus I have the name of the youth pastor at the shelter where I'm expected so I can't imagine not being allowed in.

Last night I focused on making up small gift bags for kids at the shelters. They have an activity pad, crayons, puzzle, bouncy ball, Hot Wheels car, some candy, a mini Slinky and some small card games like Go Fish or Old Maid. I made up around 50 bags and my neighbor is finishing up the job for me today making up the rest. We hope to have 100 bags by the weekend. Some will go to Concord with me tomorrow night. I'll take the others wherever I end up serving this weekend.

Word is now that diapers, ready to use formula and baby food are in very short supply. I am hoping to have enough funds left over after Friday to make up some baby care packages next.

This is my friend, Darlene. She is an awesome lady. She was volunteering in Pratt City (the same area I was in on Sunday) but in a different place. She was at the school that has been set up as the central distribution point sorting supplies. A guy wandered in the room she was in by mistake...then it gets good. This is one of those things that makes me believe in divine appointments and that nothing happens by mistake...

I was working Sunday morning at Scott School. Stevie came to my room by mistake. We discovered it was a blessing that he came in my room. I was the only person there that knew sign language and Stevie is deaf. He was hungry and had slept in his car for three nights since the tornado. We got him a hot meal. Tim E. got him food, clothes and supplies. We found him a shelter. When he was leaving, I signed to him that JESUS LOVED HIM. A tear ran down his cheek and I got a BIG hug!
