Jim Butcher's Dresden Files.
O M G.
What a piece of literature.
I don't think i have ever read so many good series in a row. Caril Berg's Rai-kirah, Bridge of D'Arnath and now Butcher's Dresden Files. The last of which is what I've been looking for for about 10 years. Bring on the monsters and the nasty. Let the wizards rampage.
I dislike vampires. I don't read or watch anything about vampires as a rule. The notion of vampires existing is just stupid. But, hey, we all make exceptions sometimes and man, Dresden Files' vampires, that's something. Especially those who feed on lust. ;]
I've read nine books and I crave more. Too bad the next is going to come out in April 2008.
How am I supposed to survive until then?
On the other hand, I don't get how it is possible that an author [Butcher], who writes books in the main character's point of view in first person [Dresden Files], which are tremendously successful, suddenly starts writing in third person?
I just started reading his second series [Codex Alera] which sounds very promising indeed, but is not written in the POV I prefer. What's up, Jim, why such a change?
