Today begins the 15 glorious days of freedom.
My dad's wedding was beautiful. The pastor did such a good job of capturing who my dad and Lynn are, and made it evident as to why they were brought together. I felt like I was intruding to be listening to something so personal when the vows were read. I was pleasantly surprised that this wedding wasn't half as hectic as Tracy's, everything seemed to go well except for some minor details (ie Lynn wanted a room with a lakeside view, and when they gave her another room she complained it was too small, so we had to go back to the original...yada yada...oy) The process of getting ready was the most fun. I had my hair done by a girl named Danielle Woods, it was very Renaissancy (as she described it) parted and up in curls, with flowers all over. Makeup was done by Dominique and Deborah at Benifit in Macy's, which by the way, is an awesome makeup place. They had lip gloss that came in shells! eeee! But anyhow, it turned out nicely as well. Nick, Jenny, and Leanne all came and looked great =P I picked out Jenny's dress, I'm proud to say, and made sure Nick matched to some extent, hehe. The reception only had one down side - I was up at the head table away from everyone else =( So I gossiped with Tracy about eveyone there for the most part, and joined them when I could. Nick and Jenny had to be dragged on the dance floor a couple of times, and no one really did that much dancing besides my brother and Leanne. Towards the end, Chris started breakdancing, and everyone circled around him. After he was done being in the limelight, different people took turns dancing in the middle...it was pretty funny. My uncle Jim went out and imitated my brother's breakdancing, quite unsuccessfully, but it was cute. Although us kids were somewhat uneven as far as guy-girl ratio and numbers (Chris and Nick to Leanne, Jenny and I) Chris made up for it by dancing with his invisible girlfriend Olivia, and the rest of us switched off between partners. Anhow, everything wrapped up around 8:30, but I didn't get out of there till around 9. Lynn's letting me use her phone for the next two weeks, so after the wedding I went with them back to the room to get it out of her purse. It was somewhat awkward leaving. It's like "ok well you guys have..uh...fun..and I'll umm...talk to you later...uhh...yeah ok, bye" I tried my best not to imagine how soon they were having sex after I walked out the door. Eww. So I drove my brother and I home, got a bit lost, but made it eventually. At home, my mother Nick and Jenny had all been waiting for us for a half an hour or so (sorry once again!) but I'm sure they all had some good bonding time, hehe. I guess that concludes my Sunday.
As always, there's so much I should have been writing about since I last updated. I'll just say I second Jenny's notion that everyone having their licenses is absolutely awesome. Since Nick's been licensed, it's actually felt like summer. I think I've seen both him and Jenny every day for over a week now. That's what summer's all about...School will be over this week, and I'm hoping to pass with a C (yikes) and then finally, I won't have to worry about anything. I'll still have work...and polo...and Tuesday Club, but hey, it's one more thing off the list.
So I'm living by myself for two weeks. I have to do my own laundry, buy my own groceries, learn how to use our dishwasher (lol), get everything boxed and ready to be moved, clean like crazy (although you know the computer will be the last thing I put away =P), keep up with my schedule and try to stay out of trouble, hehe. I don't think it'll be too hard though, I'm determined to be trustworthy. This should be a good experience, eh? No rules, no parents - a car, cellphone, and house all to myself. To quote Damnit, "I guess this is growing up..." =D Off to do Algebra 2 hmwk, ta ta!
By the way Nick, this means you have to update now =P
