✨📖True Colors by Kristen Hannah📖✨

Continuing my binge reading of Kristen Hannah books.  True Colors is definitely not as powerful or profound as The Nighingale or The Great Alone, but it's an interesting story about three sisters and horses.  It's kind of like a soap opera / chicklit drama.  Started reading with the audible audiobook, but then I ditched it and just kept reading on my own.

Update: January 1st, 2025. Finished reading.  First book of the year finished.  I'm going to start using my goodreads account again.  I won't write reviews, but I will use the tags to keep track of everything I read this year.

Anyhow this book was a real dud for me.  I just didn't care about the characters at all.  I didn't care if the dad got out of jail. I didn't care if his son passed eighth grade.  I didn't care about any of the three sisters.  Like this reviewer aptly put, the characters are caricatures. rather than based in something that feels more authentic.  I would agree that this is a "horse girl soap opera" and it feels really vapid...like all the time.  Going to either give this book away tomorrow, or leave it on the TTC.
