Of all the weapons she had commanded, Elizabeth knew the least of love; and of all the weapons in the world, love was the most dangerous. I feel really relieved. I finally made my last post for
Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. There are a few more tumblr gifsets/graphics I'm planning to post at a later point, but I no longer have use for the book, which I will promptly return to the library. I kind of debated
buying the book from Indigo, and the
PPZ postcard book (now out of print), from ebay. Here are some pictures I have saved from various websites. I am glad I decided not to go through with buying it because I don't know who I could send these horrific and gory postcards to.
There is a sequel and a prequel.
Dreadfully Ever After, and
Dawn of the Dreadfuls. The author is different.
Pride and Prejudice and Zombies was written by
Seth Grahame-Smith, and the latter two books in the series are written by
Steve Hockensmith. I've already borrowed books #2 and #3 from the library, and I've read most of book #2. I can say that the quality of writing, and even the illustrations, is a lot lower than in the original PPZ novel. And I think a big reason for this is that the first book had Jane Austen's P&P framework. Without the "spine" of P&P it just becomes more horror/gore porn.
