tumblr A few points:
It actually makes it so much funnier that it's this Scarer named "Claws Ward" having a mental breakdown about a 6 year old girl nearly touching him.'
Clasward's scare assistant (Chuck) slaps him in the face and says, "Keep it together man!" And I guess I randomly started thinking...most of the Scarers in
Monsters, Inc. (2001) are male. Or assumed to be male. And also in
Monsters University (2013). Only in
Monsters at Work (2021- ) do we start to see female jokesters and female scare assistants. Most of the female roles in the first two movies are administration and secretarial jobs (Celia Mae, Roz, Ms. Flint, Dean Hardscrabble) and maternal roles (Squishy Squibbles' mom, Needleman's mom, the monster mom who tells Sulley he is a wonderful father). There aren't many female monsters on the streets of Monstropolis or even in the factory. Which is kind of strange.
Gifsets, gfis and pictures below of Mama Monster and Mini Monsters.
There’s nothing more toxic or deadly than a human child. A single touch could kill you. Leave a door open, and one can walk right into this factory; right into the monster world.

Also, Clawsward's claws don't actually look like claws. His claws are retractable and they are blowing with a bit of breeze. They are meant to be claws but they actually look like yellow feathers.
Here is a picture of scare leaders concept art from
The Art of Monsters, Inc. I actually want to take some better pictures at some point. But his claws in the concept art actually look pointy. I'm guessing that because it was 2001, Disney animatiors didn't have the technology they needed to animate every monster to perfection. And the background monsters (2 minutes cameo max) were not seen as important in terms of time as compared to Mike and Sulley. Still the background monsters fascinate me. The fact that each monster on the scare floor has his own special scary "talent", strengths and weaknesses and a scare assistant to give them a pep talk and keep them focussed. This movie is super old, but I love it to bits and I could analyze it forever.
