After Mass in the grand, soaring chapel, they walk back, Antoinette's enchanted shoes gliding above the parquet.  She has had to enchant ten different pairs now, but luckily they seem to keep the enchantment even if the shoes get a new buckle, a new bow.  It makes her wonder what part of an object holds its enchantment and whether an enchanted shoe is like the ship of Theseus: if the heel, the sole, and evey other part were replaced, when would the enchantment vanish?

But, so far, all of her shoes still help her walk more gracefully than ought to be possible, and that's the main thing.
