Belle French Aesthetic: Red
Thought I'd post this, because I'm reading Sense and Sensibility right now, and watching the
2008 miniseries. I also found the original picture of the Jane Austen books and the tea cup. The photoset was made by someone in the OUAT fandom. She has done
a whole series. Disney's Belle is said to be from the 18th Century - "The Age of Reason". Sense and Sensibility, was published in 1811. So I guess, whether or not Belle knew of Jane Austen's books would depend on how long she lived. I have not read any "published fanfiction books" put out by Disney, where Belle was reading Jane Austen. I love the thought of
Belle reading Pride and Prejudice,
and admiring Lizzie Bennet's wit and liveliness of spirit, but whether Belle read these books in her lifetime would depend on when she was born in the 18th Century. I do want to read
these published fanfic books published by Disney, and see if any historically significant dates are mentioned. I know that Belle talks about the
Library of Alexandria in
As OId as Time. But that is a historical event from the ancient world that Belle had read about. Anyhow it's my headcanon that Belle has read all of Jane Austen's novels, including her juvenilia, and that she lives to the ripe old age of 99.
