I've queued two Princess Diaries posts. Very large posts.
What is below the cut is basically whatever couldn't fit inside the other two posts.
Hopefully I've covered everything in the other two posts, but if I've missed anything, I will edit this post.

You try living for 15 years thinking that you’re one person, and then in five minutes, you find out you’re a princess. Just in case I wasn’t enough of a freak already, let’s add a tiara!

In 1916, Tsar Nicholas II hosts a ball at the Catherine Palace to celebrate the Romanov tricentennial. His mother, the Dowager Empress Marie Feodorovna, gives a music box and a necklace inscribed with the words “Together in Paris” as parting gifts to her youngest granddaughter, Grand Duchess Anastasia.The ball is interupted by Rasputin who curses the royal family which leads to the uprising of the nation and the murder of the whole royal family except for the Empress Marie and Anastasia.10 years after the revolution Anastasia has grown up in an orphanage, under the name of Anya and doesn’t remember who she is.She wants to go to Paris to find her family, and so joins up with two con artists, Dimitri and Vlad, who realise that she really resembles the princess and would be a perfect candidate to fool the grandmother into giving them the reward for finding Anastasia.Later they discover that Anastasia is actually the princess and she finally reunites with her family.

i don’t think anyone fully understands how iconic of a film the princess diaries truly is. everything in that film is iconic. the apartment/firehouse. the scooters as a method of transportation. “get off the grass” in 4 languages. “please don’t crush my soy nuts.” the mustang. the weird neighbor who writes poetry. the m&ms on the keyboard and the pizza. “it’s a wango?” lily’s otter backpack. the whole paolo makeover sequence. every foot pop. stop me i could go on forever the princess diaries is so iconic it’s on the same level of iconography as star wars (1977)
