Awww, I remember when I made this edit. ☺️
Currently rewatching the movie again because I wasn’t able to properly pay attention earlier. This is still my all time favorite film. No matter how many times I see, it brings me so much comfort and makes so happy. <3
I will be back tomorrow (well, later today cuz it’s after midnight lol) with more thoughts, observations and reactions about the film. :)
Omg yes, I agree! Making Leonardo da Vinci her fairy godmother (or in this case - fairy godfather? :D) was such a brilliant and unique idea. This movie was really creative with their ways of retelling a classic fairytale. :)
I agree - adding Da Vinci just made the story feel more real, more historically accurate and in a way more romantic because that painting really does look like Drew Barrymore. <3
Yeah, this movie didn’t need talking mice or maguc pumpkins because the real magic was the love between Danielle and Prince Henry. I really like how their relationship was developed - it felt the most genuine out of all the Cinderella adaptations I’ve seen so far.

The fact that the painting looks so much like Drew Barrymore and actually looks like something that Da Vinci would have painted himself - it just makes the film all the more real to me. Such a perfect film ♥️

this was a really lovely movie. i love that leonardo da vinci was cinderella's fairy godmother.
the whole story gelled together really beautifully, nothing felt forced or out of place. :)

I also did like that there weren't pumpkins turning into carriages, mice turning into coachmen. It really did feel like a true story :-)
