I was just remembering that Ariel has a pair of boots from her shopping trip with Eric!
There is an entire TLM episode in the series about a boot, Ariel calls "thing-a-ma-jigger".
It is actually quite fascinating, because all of the sea creatures have different reactions to it.
The Lobster Mobster and Da shrimp think of what it signifies in terms of power.
King Triton fears it, as he does all human things.
The clams repeat gossip along their chain, like a telephone line XD
The Evil Manta also thinks of it in terms fo power - to overthrow King Triton.
Ariel is fascinated by it, and goes up to the surface (watching Eric from behind, so she can't see his face), and she realizes that the "thingamajigger" is harmless, as a human threw away two of them. It is simply a way to cover their "feet fins".
Anyhow, looking at this old gifset of Ariel holding some boots reminded me of this episode :)
This series just make me feel really happy. I smile so much even thinking about it haha.
Ariel: It's something humans use to cover their fins.
Triton: Ariel, how do you suddenly know so much about humans?
Ariel: I uh - kind of sort of went to the surface.
Triton: You what?
Ariel: If I hadn't, wouldn't have found out about the thingamajiggers. If we could learn more about humans-
Triton: Humans are dangeous, Ariel. Look at the damage their thingamajigger did!
Fish: Actually your Majestry, your trident did that particular damage.
Triton to Ariel: Well, whatever. For now, just get rid of those thingamajiggers!
