Omg, yes! I thought the same thing! I really feel like ALP is very much inspired by Cinderella. It is essentially a Cinderella retelling with the main character as a child.

Yes...you know when you think about it it's cinderella in reverse. Riches to rags instead of rags to riches. The death of a father. Being demoted to servant status in a place where you once were revered as a princess. the role of animals, so many parallels :')

Very true! Although, in many different adaptations of Cinderella it is implied that her father was quite wealthy, so technically Cinderella went from riches to rags to riches again … lol

But yes, so many parallels! :)
