Hollow Sounds

I try to speak,
I twist on the edge of anticipation for an answer,
But nobody's listening.
All the echos bounce back,
Nobody here is listening to a word.

So much I wanted to say to you,
but I find I just can't care anymore.
Nobody's listening.
All the echo's bounce back,
hollow and empty,
Nobody here is listening to a word I say.

The picture frames on the walls,
sport cracks in the glass;
Breathing in the heavy weight,
of immeasurable silence.

I tried to tell you,
Waited for days that were years for recognition;
But you weren't listening,
And the echos of my voice just bounced off the walls.
You never listened to a thing I said.

~~~
It's such a... crushing, sense of loss, when you try so hard, and for so long, to communicate words that need to be said. Ask questions that need to be voiced, only to find the only answer is "I don't have time for it..." I'm not entirely sure, but that might be just the very worst sentence in the whole entire world.
Baby you're lost
Baby you're lost
Baby you're a lost cause
I'm tired of fighting
I'm tired of fighting
Fighting for a lost cause
There's a place where you are going
You ain't never been before
No one left to watch your back now
No one standing at your door
Ain't that's what you thought love was for
