Looking Back - My Favorites
Because December is the time looking back at the year, I begin with one, telling you about my favorite TV-Shows and Feature Film and maybe books.
My favorite TV-Shows of this year were:
Avatar - the last Airbender: The show caught my fully with the last half of it's 3rd season, but I my interest began in the summer, after watching the rest of the 2nd season and the first half of the 3rd. I love the story, the Background and the design.
Dexter: I like the concept and the telling of the story. It is nice how they manage to make a serial-killer a hero without denying his psychopathic nature. And it is thrilling how the Ice-Truck-Killer plays with him..
Stargate Atlantis - 5th Season: Yes and now. Some ot the stories were still great, especially the interaction with Todd and with the full team, but there are much more disappointing episodes in this season for me. I cannot get warm with Jennifer Keller or the romance between her and McKay.
And I think, the parts I have seen from Merlin and The Legend of the Seeker could make them to my favorites too.
In Cinema I was happy about:
Indiana Jones IV: Kingdom of the Crystal Skull: Although it is not so good as Part I and III, which are still my favorites. But the interaction between Indy and his son was nice and Harrison Ford is still believable as action hero.
Prince Caspian (Narnia 2): I must confess, here I am less impressed from the story, but the soundtrack in combination with the pictures, and the actor of Caspian was sweet. I still have to watch the Film in englisch, because the Translation.
The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor: It was not so good as part I and II but a nice action movie with some humor.
Looking back I find out, that this year I was more interested in TV-Shows and Animes ( I could commplete the Collection of some nice series like "Full Metal Alchemist" or "Good Witch of the West") than in feature films or cinema.
Books - here I must confess that I have read to much this year. Because I have to criticize them, I have read several hundred books (yes that is true!) and comics, but none of them impressed me so much, that I can remember them without looking at the covers. I know it is a shame.
