It's going to be a busy week! Monday night is the Indigo Girls concert in Indy; I'll leave town early enough that I can hopefully park at the venue then walk over to the student union to grab a bite to eat (they'd better have something over there that's open for dinner, 'cause I won't be getting home till after midnight). Note to self: be sure to hit the ATM! I'm going to want to buy a Three Five Human CD (the opening band), and even though I really shouldn't spend the money, I may be tempted to buy a T-shirt or something.
Thursday night is the Mary Oliver reading, also in Indy, at the same venue even; several of us are carpooling in Tonia's car, but apparently I'm driving because I'm the only one who can reliably stay awake late enough (it will probably be close to 9:00 before we leave, and for some people I guess that's late). No idea how I'm going to manage dinner that night; although we are getting there probably a half-hour before doors open at the venue that's not really enough time to grab dinner up there, and in a car full of super-political vegetarians, I think I would probably have my head taken off if I dared to suggest we hit a fast-food drive-thru on the way up. (I've already been lectured about drinking diet coke.) Sigh. Guess I better bring a couple of powerbars or something. Note to self: hit the ATM again, because if they are selling her new book and if she is signing them, I will want to buy one. She probably won't sign, though -- not if it's as big a crowd as they seem to be expecting...
It's fairly chilly today -- 43 outside, according to the little weather widget on my Firefox -- I'm thinking I may have to finally break down and turn on the heat. But I really better go buy a new furnace filter first, since the one that's in there has been there since last winter and I'm sure it is more cat hair than filter now. I don't really feel much like leaving the house, but I guess I'll have to if I know what's good for me.
OK, time to stop farting around on LJ and try to get something done around here.
