It's strange that watching 80s cartoons makes me a remember a time when I was stil a little girl, and very much in love with the idea of people in love. I've always been a strong person and admired strong female characters: Princess Leia, Princess Adora, Princess Allura, Princess Jasmine,... well, I think you get the idea. (Non Princess Alternatives? Wonder Woman, Aeryn Sun, Teela, Cat Woman (from Batman the Animated Series), Elisa from Gargoyles).
Regardless, Hulu.com (best thing ever in the entire world yay!) have made my addictive personality obsessed with Voltron - and more in particular the "Romance" between Allura and Keith. It's a cartoon..... and I'm reading Fan Fiction and watching and re-watching episodes into the wee hours of the night. Blargh!!!
I realize too, that I do tend to read for the "Romance" as long as it's not a "Romance" book - Ron & Herminone from Harry Potter were the real reason I kept reading. I re-watch 80s cartoons and realize they are silly, but you look for that "glance" or that "touch of hands" between two characters, and "BAM!" you're a shipper.... argh!!! It's almost better when it's not consumated (not in THAT sense, get your minds out of the gutters) - but in that "longing" to see something happen - that's the best part. A smile, a glance, a gesture, a thought!!!
So I'm a hopeless Romantic at heart. God, I am such a girl sometimes.... I hate it.
