Well that sucks
We made an offer to what seemed like a dream-come-true payroll manager type person.
Yeah, I don't know what ended it more --
1) The DUI still pending legal action
2) The bankruptcy because of medical bills (we've learned twice over, financial stress and accounting/payroll positions are not a wise choice, and to take on an unknown is a bad idea.. been there/done that/have the t-shirt)
3) The fact that although in her interview she mentioned multiple times that her husband had been sick and that was part of her gap from work, but he was back to work now... but in this discussion about a heads up before we did the background/credit check, not to worry about the DUI because she's already been assured she will get community service, not jail time, AND even if she loses her license for 90 days, her husband can drive her since he wasn't working. Ugh. That means she straight out liked to our faces. Multiple times. I think that upsets me as much as anything else.
OR............... icing on the cake.....
4) She wanted more money than we were offering.
Back to the drawing board.
And at work on a Saturday because it's January and I have no payroll manager and quarterly reports and W-2s and workers comp audits are all happening.
