“I thought you and I agreed not to exchange gifts this year?” she asked, her expression a mixture of concern and curiosity. She was obviously thrown a bit off by his behavior.
“This is different, Bones,” he replied, with a cocky grin. “Just open it.”
With another quizzical look, she took the present and began to unwrap it. Inside, she found a small jewelry box. “Booth… I…”
“I know you aren’t big on tradition, Temperance,” he said softly. “But…” he trailed off, opening the box to reveal an engagement ring. “Will you marry me?”
