Harry Potter looked around, taking in the setting at the Burrow. It was a day not completely unlike Bill and Fleur’s wedding. Except this time there was no worry that the ministry would fall, that the world would turn upside down. There was no disguise. In fact, he had the honor of being the Best Man. It was still hard for him to believe that Voldemort was completely gone, that his scar would never again bother him. Of course that peace, the peace of the world had come at a high price. Several absences today still stung, especially that of Fred. George had recovered, even married, but was never quite the same.
He suddenly felt eyes on him and turned to look. Ginny was standing behind him, smiling at him. They had been dating now for a couple of years and would probably have their own day like today not too far in the future. Of course, that required that he work up the courage to ask her. But if Ron could do it… then he could find a way to do it too. He smiled back at her and walked over to take her hand. She wrapped her arms around his neck and leaned in to kiss his cheek. “You know,” he started. “I’ve been thinking.”
“About what?” she asked innocently.
“About today. That we could have a day like this.”
“What are you saying Harry?”
He pulled back from her and kneeled, pulling out the ring that had been burning a hole in his pocket for a couple of weeks now. “Ginny Weasley, would you marry me?”
She looked surprised, though she probably shouldn’t have been as they’d discussed it quite a bit. “Yes! Of course I will!”
He stood and they kissed.
It felt so good to be able to live and love in the real world.

They were only left alone for a long moment before that same real world came back and broke the moment in the form of Percy. “Harry, we’ve got a bit of a situation.”
“What’s going on?” Harry asked. “Don’t tell me he’s frozen again.”
Percy nodded, affirming the situation. “And mumbling on and on about how he doesn’t know what he’s going to do.”
“I’ll be right there,” he responded, squeezing Ginny’s hand. “I need to go talk to him.”
“That’s okay,” Ginny said, smiling at him and fingering the ring now sitting on her hand. “I best go see how Hermione’s doing.”
She turned to go, when Harry stopped her. “You really do look beautiful today.”

I’m considering continuing that last scene [complete with Ron freaking out], but I don’t know yet.
