Okay. So my plan was to not remind my dad about Saturday School, yell at him in the morning for forgetting, and take the Monday suspension for not going

We had a really complex system. Basically, any teacher could give any student a "strike." You couldn't have more than one strike to get on this one type of honor system, which kind of sucked. People got strikes for being late, for not having the proper materials, for talking back, for saying anything rude including swearing, and for being out of uniform, including a shirt that did not properly cover oneself, a shirt that was not tucked in, or even socks that were not navy blue or white. Yeah, it was fucked up. If you got three strikes, you had a "supervised lunch." This meant you brought your lunch to the art room and, under a teacher's supervision, wrote an essay about how you got your strikes and how you will change your behavior. Again, fucked up. If you attended three supervised lunches (9 strikes), you had a "Saturday detention." This was basically Saturday school, and you again wrote an essay. If you went to three Saturday detentions, (27 strikes) you were then suspended. After three suspensions, (81 strikes) you were expelled. Your number of strikes was erased after each trimester. Several people came close to suspension. I don't have the slightest idea as to how, but I can't say I blame them. The school was just way too uptight.

Oh, lord, I'm glad our school doesn't have a strike system. If that was the case, we'd be about half our current size, if even that. My school's gotten pretty uptight as well, though. Over the summer, we lost thirty faculty members, including our principal, and the new principal's decided that our school needs to be exemplary (which is good), and in order to acheive this, we have to clean up our appearance (which is also good)... literally. Meaning? Dress code. Guys got it the worst: certain lengths that their hair could be worn, no piercings, no facial hair, etc., etc., etc. The first month of school was kids getting written up for different dress code violations. ISS (in school suspension), however, was pretty much killed, as was Saturday School. They still have them, I know, but... they're not nearly as .. erm, threatening, as they had been. Now it's just getting written up or suspended or expelled. Personally, I think that we should be given a break, and not get written up for such stupid, trivial matters: we're at school, for cyring out loud. We're going to our classes. Why're they complaining?

That's really screwed up. Okay, so my school was probably more anal, but still. All girls schools are always anal... We had hair restrictions too. And piercing restrictions. No facial hair... Didn't really have to worry. ;) I hate dress codes. They don't help, they don't look "neater" they just silence personal freedom and individuality. So stupid...
