As I said in my last post, I would be back to give a review of the different Wizard Rock bands, and what I thought about all of them. So here it is, I checked out five different bands and here's my take on all of them.
Harry and the Potters
As I had stated before I have been a fan of this band for quite some time. I think I found them around May/June of 2005 so it's been quite awhile. Now they're a different sort, and have been around the longest. Their sound isn't what one is accustomed to hearing, keep in mind all of these bands are amateur so you can't compare them to something like Franz Ferdinand or something.
But Harry and the Potters are two brothers that read the books and liked them and came up with songs to sing. They are actually quite popular in the Potter community. They have really entertaining lyrics and a nice beat. And as I said, there sound is quite different then what one is normally accustomed to hearing. Their voices are a little rough and a bit off tune sometimes, but all-in-all they are really great.

Draco and the Malfoys
When I heard this band I was expecting them to be a lot like Harry and the Potters, and in a way they are. They have the same kind of beats and sing the same types of songs, only from the Slytherin perspective. They can keep in tune a bit better then the Potters, but they are lacking some of the creativity I find in the Potters. However, their lyrics have caused me to laugh out loud on more then one occasion. In the song, "My Dad is Rich" they bash poor little Harry and wow, it's so mean, and yet so entertaining. They do a good job as well.
Rating:
The Remus Lupins
I originally wasn't going to give this band the rating I did until I listened to more of the songs and read some of the things on their webpage. Unlike Harry and the Potters or Draco and the Malfoys, The Remus Lupins goes into all of the characters heads allowing the songs to have all kinds of connotations.
They aren't as well done as the other two, however, the enthusiasm and the absolute fun in the songs makes this a grade A band to listen too. Plus they ship Neville/Luna. I can't turn that down. :)

Dobby and the House Elves
Now after listening to some of the other bands, I was fully expecting something similar to them, but upon listening, they are much more techno then Harry and the Potters or The Remus Lupins. They mix a ton of different vocals, doing rap in one, a more traditional pop in another. A lot of this comes from the fact that they like to do remixes from some of the other bands music. This isn't a bad thing however, they do a wonderful job.

The Hermione Crookshanks Experience
Its the first GIRL BAND of Wizarding Rock I've come across! Her lyrics are really quite good, she is fond of rhyming stanzas. But for the really good lyrics and the huge potential for this band; the bad quality of recording kind of gets in the way. I think though that if one can get past that fact then you've found yourself a really neat band.
