Mar 7,2011-10 am - on the bus to AC
I'm not used to this rapid change. I seem to adjust fine. Physically my body is in a new routine but mentally I still linger on the past one.
Boston to LA to San Jose to LA to Hawaii to Cancun to China to Korea to China.
Remembering the feeling of sitting on the 15 bus to YX resettlement area (that we don't go to anymore since the gvt office took over our rehab center). The feel of the plastic seats. the rattle of the bus. The swing of the handles on the bar above. Remebering the many times we were packed in like sardines. Shoe to shoe on the grey dusty floor.
But this time on the bus we are riding the long distance bus station to AC, our new home. I can't believe I left my home in MY this morning. Clean, cool, modern, large home in MY. Following the movers in and out in and out until I left and didn't have time to look back.
Next we were at our office moving to our new office in AC. Back and forth and and forth up and down 13th floor 7th floor. Yelling back and forth back and forth. Until they said we have to go. We said a hasty goodbye to our HK roommate whom I've been living with for half a year, whom I won't see on a daily basis, whom I will miss.
Rapid change is common here, especially in our line of work. I wonder how my teammates cope... Do I have it harder because I'm American?
