More customer disservice

Nine days from now my kids and I are going to visit my father. I made my flight reservations through Orbitz back in November, including some good seat selections near the front of each plane and with window views for the kids.

Today I went to look at my itinerary, and my seat selections were gone. I tried to make new ones, and discovered that there weren't three seats together - and I mean even in the same row - on three of the six flights involved. Eeeeeeeek! I called USAirways, and they told me there was nothing they can do. I can try changing seats at the gate, or throw myself on the mercy of neighboring passengers, but that's about it. I just emailed Orbitz, but I don't know that there's anything they can do at this point either. And, the seats I could reserve were all toward the back of the plane, in the middle section of planes with 7 to 10 seats across, so no window views for us.

I am steaming mad. And I pity the person who has to sit next to my 8-year-old for 7 hours without me anywhere in the same row.
