How fitting it is that the day after this historic election is November the 5th!
Especially when it was change that we sought ,and change which we got. This will be a 5th of November that will never be forgotten. :)
I must say, however, that I am very upset about Prop 8 being passed... well, apparently not all votes have been counted for it yet, but it certainly seems that it passed.
Once again, I fail to understand why people have a problem with gay marriage, and why they feel the need to press their stupid, bigoted opinions on others. I fail to understand why people would write discrimination into law. It's so, so sad, and I am only thinking of how tragic it is that several marriages of happy people in love will now be voided, because a bunch of bigots were too afraid to allow them the opportunity for equality.
Sigh.
As Matt put it: one giant step forward for the country, two steps back for our state. I can only hope that it is someday overturned; I think it will be, but it'll take more time. I thought we were ready, but I guess not.
