Held Down

Am still sick. Felt better today, but still didn't go anywhere since those plans were foiled...

I hate being sick. Yes it gives me time to lay around and be lazy while resting, but it's annoying because I have so much to do! I will go to class tomorrow. I didn't go last Friday, or to work. I've had four days of R&R and I'm hoping that'll do it so that tomorrow I feel extra well enough to hit class at 9am. 9am stats. What was I thinking?

Anyway, so I've been watching movies, reading, and downloading music. I've converted to Dez's method of torrents because Limewire died and actually this is much faster. Well, it's faster now. My first download took two days. Then when it finished I realized it was because each song (about 15?) was one hour long. XD Oh man.

And now Infected Mushroom is owning my soul. Man, I love them. And I downloaded Ferry's L.E.F. which is awesomeness. I need Passport. And other IM CDs. And drum n bass. And I need to clean out my lappie because I am definitely going to run out of space as it is, speak not of downloading these things.

I went to Barnes & Noble with Mike last Thursday when I was first starting to get sick. Had a great time, despite bickering over astrology. :P I am stubborn. But, I bought two awesome books and one of my favorite mags: Saint Augustine's Confessions and Kahlil Gibran's The Prophet. The latter is a quick read and AMAZING. What a beautiful book. It's like... all the advice you need on living in 90 pages, put eloquently. And I'm almost through with the introduction to Confessions, but I don't think I'll actually start it until I finish The Brothers Karamazov because I need to freaking finish that already. I procrastinate.

Another resolution for the year: no new books until you read all the ones you have! So, I'll have a while till I can buy books again.

Oh, the magazine I bought was Adbusters' latest issue. That magazine kicks ass. It'd be awesome to write for them, although they're based in Canada I'm pretty sure. Figures. Still! Will devour it soon. :)

I'm actually excited about my classes, except for my Stats class and my English class. I really really hate English 1C. Hence, I have continued to avoid it up to my senior year (either withdrawing or dropping it every time I'm supposed to take it). Hate. I just don't feel the necessity. I know how to read and write well. It's just one of those things that's like "oh, I can totally ace this class... but it bores me so I don't care." I am, however, excited about Latin American politics and my Mass Media and Pop Culture classes. :D

Have a few sorority things coming up this week, but that should be all for the quarter after that. Then, I can go on leave and focus on school and paying them back. Good news: I paid my mom back what was charged for last quarter! And she told me to not worry about paying her back the debt I incurred over the summer. I love my mom for this. It's such a load off. All I have to do now is pay off sorority stuff and then I can move out!! *crosses fingers*

Sigh.

Okay, off to read.
