"A war." he confirmed nodding and then sighed at the young couple, "Off with ya. I'm 'fraid we dun have extra rooms so we made ya a place in the barn with some extra blankets."
"Oh hush Nelgen, you're scarin' em." Elda scolded, "Yes yes, to the barn with you both. War over dinner, honestly, not good conversation at all."
Simon wondered why the woman was so eager to get them out but he could only guess that it was because she had something to discuss with her own husband. He didn't hesitate to thank them for what they had done for them and quietly excused himself after Nia, this had been a few worlds short of heaven and it seemed there was already unrest here. Maybe it'd been this way for a while. He frowned as he closed the barn door behind them. The horses were out at pasture for the night and so there was no need for them to be in the stalls (which had been freshly cleaned by Simon himself.)
He followed Nia over to the area behind a few bails of hay where various blankets and pelts had been set out for them, along with a clean pitcher of water and a lantern. They really were a kind couple. Maybe he was wrong to suspect them.
"Nia? Are you alright?" He asked from behind, hesitating a little, he'd never truly shared a bed with her before. It was new to him. He swallowed hard at that thought but he knew he shouldn't feel bad about it...it was his wife afterall not just some loose girl.
Nia bowed gracefully,"Thank you again for letting us stay the night and for your wonderful hospitality," She replied sweetly, being very polite as usual.She smiled at them before taking her leave. She walked out onto the yard, making her way to the barn and looking up into the night sky. It was quite vast and beautiful even similar to their own sky in their old world. Nia paused, it seemed odd to say their old world. Flowered eyes gazed up to the stars twinkling and she smiled slowly. Nia finished her way to the barn and opened the door with both of her small hands. She pulled to reveal the moonlit barn. It was rather clean actually, perhaps due to Simon. Everything had a glow to it even her own skin. She saw the blankets and pelts set out already, smiling warmly at their kindness.
Nia eased herself down to sit amongst the blankets, looking around to observe her surroundings. It was a really nice and humble barn. Nia broke from her thoughts when Simon arrived, looking up to see him. She smiled lovingly and gently cupped his face," What ever do you mean Simon? I am fine. May I ask why?" She questioned softly," Is everything alright with you?" She looked worried, brushing her thumbs along his cheeks," You look a bit ill Simon..would you like a glass of water?"
She really didn't understand why he looked so nervous. Was it because they were to share a bed? Nia tilted her head at him.
"I mean you came to bed a little early..." he started and then smiled a little at her touch and closed his eyes, "Nah...never mind me. I'm fine. I promise. I'm just...kind of shocked I guess."
He opened his eyes again and gave her a gentle loving gaze. He lifted his hand to be placed over hers as he sat next to her slowly, even if he was a little nervous about it, it wasn't a bad feeling. It was more that he had never been given this chance and while he'd always wondered over the years how it would go he'd never experienced it.
"I've never seen a land like this, Nia...for there to be a war...it's also really far behind technologically from ours...maybe we can help them," he continued, "Mn. I'm sure we could if we tried even though I don't know entirely where we are...It feels like we're supposed to be here. It's like a second chance...but I also have a feeling like it might be hard."
Nia blinked a few times, a bit surprised that is was still a bit early to go sleep. Sure she really did not like the thought of discussing war over dinner but then Elda's smile during the whole ordeal gave her an odd feeling. She gave a warm smile when his hand was over her own,"I am quite fine Simon, please do not worry.." Nia lovingly replied,"I am glad you are fine..I certainly thought something was the matter...shocked?" Nia peered up to him curiously," The war you mean?"
"As I have not..it is quite different from our own,"She listened intently, before replying again," Help? But how? Whose side would we be on Simon...it sounds like the whiteblood people are quite unwelcomed many places but--I have a feeling they are not bad though."
Nia closed her eyes briefly before gazing down to the floor with a sad smile.Yes. A feeling was at the pit of her stomach as to why they were here. Was there more to it? Nia's hands slid along Simon's jawline and her eyes still on the floor," Perhaps it you are correct Simon..but we must find our reason to be here yes?" Nia looked up finally to him. She leaned up to brush her lips over his lightly," I believe as long as we are together we shall be just fine."
"Yeah. I believe that too. I don't really like the idea of anyone fighting. We'll have to wait, gather more information, make sure we're not going to wind up causing more trouble." he said thoughtfully, his cheeks flushed after the kiss and he didn't hesitate to return it.
He drew her closely slowly resting his cheek atop her head, just wanting to hold her, to be able to feel her against himself. He'd missed being able to touch her, take in her scent, listen to her speak, feel the dull beat of her heart...he wasn't ungrateful for one moment of it. He'd dream about it sometimes over the years, phantoms of his previous life following him but he never let them haunt him for long. She'd wanted happiness for him. She'd told him that.
"I've...I've really missed you Nia." he said quietly, "I wanted to see you again so badly...I'm glad I was able to meet you again. It might not be in a place we're familiar with at all but that doesn't matter. I just...want to be beside you. As long as you're with me whatever it is we have to do I know without a doubt we can do it."
Nia nodded her head in agreement, smiling at the idea," Yes that is an excellent idea. But we shall have to ask around shall we not?" Nia looked behind them to the barn door,a small frown coming onto her lips as she gently laced their fingers together. She really couldn't shake the feeling away. Nia looked up quickly as he pulled her close, resting his cheek atop her white head. Her mind slipped away from her worries in that moment, closing her eyes and relaxing in his arms. She had missed him greatly. Her hands came back to study his face, as if to make sure it was not a dream. Nia's pink,flowered pupils glittering with the moonlit and becoming glassy with tears at his reply.
"As have I Simon," Nia replied quietly," I had almost lost hope we would not see each other again but now it is certain...we may be in a world not like our own but you are right, all I would like is just you." A small tear slipped over her cheek.
He used his thumb to carefully wipe the tear away, motioning to hush her with a kiss, he wasn't sure if her tears were out of sadness or happiness. Either way he didn't like seeing her cry. It was one of the things that made him believe more deeply than anything she had her own sense of humanity no matter what she had done previously. No matter what had killed her in her last life. She was more than an antispiral messenger. She was Nia. Beautiful and compassionate Nia.
He wanted to take her to himself again. He felt a deep need to be close to her, to be able to show how much he loved her, to be able for her to show how much she loved him. He pressed her closer, tugging her into his lap, kissing her passionately as he rested his hands at her hips.
A question was about to leave her when Simon leaned down to silence her with a kiss. Nia closed her eyes slowly, kissing back gently. She wasn't sure what made him do it but Nia did not mind. It felt nice to feel his lips on hers again. She recalled their first kiss and how it was blissful and made her toes curl in delight. Nia couldn't help the tiny gasp of surprise that escaped her parted lips as she was moved to sit in Simon's lap.
Nia sighed happily and kissed him bad passionatly as well, her hands reaching to slid over his cheeks and into his blue locks of hair. "Is this right Simon?" she asked, her lips hovering over his.
"Y-yeah..." he murmured, moving to tilt her head just slightly so he could place gentle kisses on her neck, he savoured every moment with her. He slipped his fingers along her shoulder and then to her front, fumbling with the buttons down the front of her dress clumsily trying to get them undone.
He felt anxious for some reason, butterflies were in his stomach even though he knew this what he wanted, that this was what she wanted as well. He'd done this with her before so he didn't understand it but he hoped he could swallow it and become caught up in the moment like last time.
Nia hummed a little, tilting her head up as he trailed soft kisses down her neck. She shifted her hips a little and moved closer as his fingers fumbled over unbuttoning the front of her dress. She smiled a little even as her cheeks flushed a rosy hue, her eyes locking onto his," What if someone walks in Simon?" She asked timidly, feeling a sudden shyness.
Like Simon, her feelings tumbled in her stomach and heart, both becoming rather erratic at Simon's touch. They had only done it once before and she made a small sigh of delight. Her hands moved from his hair, sliding down his clothed back.
"I don't think anyone will." He mumbled as anxious fingers gently eased the dress from her shoulders to fall around her waist and explore the rest of her body. His own cheeks tinged pink as he moved his hips slowly with hers. He let a soft noise escape him showing he was clearly enjoying himself.
His lips fell on her shoulder and trailed down to her chest, he left no inch he could reach without a kiss or touch, his breath hitching as she moved with him. He could feel himself becoming increasingly aroused, his heart pounding his ears as touched her, slowly the feeling was subsiding and he was calming but it was taking quite a bit of effort to do so.
Nia shivered a little at the coolness of the air on her bare skin, flushing lightly like her cheeks as she heard him,"if--you are certain." She breathlessly replied, taking a glance to the barn door before her eyes closed when his lips grazed her shoulder then trailed down. He seemed to leave no spot of skin unkissed or untouched much to her pleasure.
She gave a small whimper of his name, her head turned away. She shyly helped unbotton his own shirt slowly, whispering his name lovingly in his ear.
He shivered pleasantly when she spoke his name, he let her remove his shirt, displaying that he was rather well built underneath it but he knew she'd remember it. It was strange being so young again but he didn't bother to question it. There was only him and Nia right now and nothing existed outside of that.
He traced careful fingers up underneath the skirt of her dress, along her leg and then her thigh, moving to touch her in one of her most sensitive places.
He locked their lips in a kiss again, his tongue exploring her mouth with a soft pleased sound, his breath was caught in his throat until he pulled away breathlessly but returned to taste her again.
Nia's fingers traced along the muscles of his stomach, her eyes following her fingers movements as she did. Her eyes slowly moved to look up at him, closing half-way when his fingers traced under her dress, moving over to touch her lightly in her private are, causing Nia to inhale quickly and shyly push against his fingers.
He didn't hesitate to press more firmly, though gently, rubbing at her as she kissed him. She moaned into it and he couldn't help but return it. He moved against her once more. Again and again he returned to touch her until all clothing had been removed, bare skin was on bare skin, they were moving in unison with each other as sounds of pleasure escaped them.
Their movements were desperate and passionate even as they drew to a close. He didn't want to stop holding her this tightly for anything, panting he pulled away, drawing her into his arms and burying his face into her hair.
He was still trembling a little but felt that it was ebbing slowly, all he needed was to feel her, to be with her and everything would be right. She was all he'd ever need. He wouldn't lose her again, not for anything, not even if the antispirals decided to come back for her somehow.
"...I love you." he whispered softly in her ear, "You...you alright?"

She kissed his cheeks, smiling serenly, at the hushed words in her ear. Nia pushed away some of her damp curls, moving her head to look up to Simon. "As I love you Simon.." she whispered back," I am just fine..do not worry."
