Ah. So Stella and Ted sent telegrams to John and Mary's wedding after all. :D

The spare bedroom next to yours is being redecorated and made child-safe
Oooh, I wondered why you mentioned this room in the previous chapter, it's a very good reason!

Only in soppy romantic fiction do people feel a warm glow spreading through their body. Despite that, John felt a warm glow spreading through his body.
Is this meta? :D

“Will you come home?”
*nods knowingly* I bet John will say yes. But, on the other hand, thank you for the epilogue that is probably going to be very fluffy!

It's weird that so many fics over the years have assumed that John had a tiny attic bedroom (a la Martin Crieff) on the second floor and that there was nothing else up there. From the views outside the house, it's clear that the building is four storeys high and so the second floor must be roughly the same shape as the first. So there's the same floor space up there as there is on the first floor, matching the living room and kitchen at the very least, even if it doesn't extend back above Sherlock's bedroom. Plenty of room for at least two bedrooms and possibly another bathroom as well.

Is this meta? :D
*gasps* Are you suggesting that this is soppy romantic fiction?! How very dare you?!

thank you for the epilogue that is probably going to be very fluffy!
Oh lord, you have no idea ... Well, you will shortly, seeing as I've just posted chapter 4.

"...and I’ve imagined every possible way it could go wrong. But I’ve also imagined the ways it could go right.”"

I can't believe how determined Sherlock is! All the decorating, child-proofing, furniture choosing seems uncharacteristic at first, but then attention to detail is his thing . . .

You realise, don't you, that this story will have to run and run so that we see John & Rosie moving in and Rosie growing up under their care??!!! :)

I think that's how Sherlock shows love, in practical ways rather than romantic ones.

this story will have to run and run

Ooh, not by me! I think the epilogue summed it all up for me.

Unless one day my plotbunny decides that we're going to write The Adventures of Saint Bartholomew, the world's only consulting bear detective ...
