OH MY GOD ARIANE I ADORE YOU. (It was the cry from the heart of someone who was desperately looking for subtitles or some kind of transcript and didn't dare to hope you'd do it.) Christmas is complete! Thanks God you're in this fandom. Have a wonderful Christmas, you kind and lovely person! :-)

Thank you very much for this transcript! I understood almost all of it, but some things are really quick or mumbled...

So, as a little Thank You I'll provide the German text:

Foreman: Nun, wie wir alle wissen, wurde diese Jury unter höchst ungewöhnlichen Umständen zusammengerufen. Aber ich muss Sie jetzt auf ein Urteil drängen. Ist Herr Trephoff schuldig oder nicht schuldig am Mord seiner Frau?

Jury members: Nicht schuldig.

Foreman: Nun?

It should be noted that in Germany there's no jury to convict a criminal. We've got a judge, and there might be citizens in certain low-profile cases (cases where the crime is a minor one) that help with the decision, provide a different perspective. It's not like it's in the US. But perhaps that's what's meant with "unusual circumstances"?

It sounded to me like several of the jurors are not native German speakers. But the foreman sounded native. What did you think?

Yes, that's what I thought, too. The foreman did sound like a native, but many of the jurors had problems pronouncing "Nicht schuldig" (which is difficult for non-native speakers *g*). But I thought that about the German tourists in TBB as well, they didn't really sound as if that was their native tongue. *g*

Haha, I was actually waiting for at least one of them to say "net schuldig" - I've spent far too many years among Schwaben...:)

Get out of my head, you. Because this is precisely my initial thoughts and reaction when a friend posted a link to my FB page. Right down to the "This is amazing." Glad to know I'm not the only one.
