Books read recently:
He's So Not Worth It - Kieran Scott
- Prediction: It's not his baby.
Touch of Power - Maria V. Snyder
- Loved this. Very reminiscent of Tamora Pierce with the magic and healing but not at all a copy-cat. Sad that I have to wait at least another year for the next one.
Past Perfect - Leila Sales
- I knew within five pages that I would completely love this book. It's based around a war between teenagers who work at a Colonial city and ones who work at a Civil War reenactment. I could have gone for more antics, but it was a great story.
Pretty Things - Sarra Manning
- Eh, I only scanned this one. It was okay. It's set around teenagers putting on a play, which should have been great, but it didn't hold my interest.
Drink Deep - Chloe Neill
- Enjoyed it. I don't have the outrage at the author that a lot of people do because I read both the previous book and this one within a couple weeks of each other. I also knew what was going to happen ahead of time, so I didn't have a sense of shock. Some things were less than believable, but not enough to really bother me. Some people felt that Merit didn't mourn enough at the beginning, and I disagree. I thought it was a good balance.
Slayed - Amanda Marrone
- Not a terribly memorable book, but not bad. A very quick read.
