Today I saw
evenfurther's nifty New Works play, "Too Much Hair". It was very her and very fresh and interesting. Not to mention, one of the actresses actually got her hair cut on stage. And Ginsberg is the best hallucinated Beat poet ever. Kudos, dear. :)
In fact, everyone did well. It's cool to see raw student talent. :) And there was art. Whee. It made me want to dance and write more.
It was neat to see New Works and be in YPAS again. (I hadn't gone in there since I graduated.) The Experimental Theatre is just one big flashback for me - I saw New Works from multiple perspectives and roles. I also got to see Ms. Allison again, which was cool, although I'm not entirely sure she recognized me.
I went there with
keeping_on and her friend Katie, who is apparently my grandrecruit. There was even discussions of there eventually being a fourth (technically fifth!) generation. That is, if I didn't scare her. ;) Heya!
Afterwards, we all hung out, along with Eric, another one of Lauren's friends. (She had quite a contingent in the audience.) We went to get a closer look at a
warehouse fire we had seen the smoke from before. (And by closer, I mean a few blocks away. Definitely for the best.) I don't think there was anyone inside when it started - I'll be interested to see if they figure out anything more about it later.
After that, we went to Sweet Surrender and Heine Brothers for tasty things and hanging out.
After I got home, I made a nifty pendant, because that's what I do. It was a relief after last night, when I got extremely restless to make something and completely failed to make anything. The pendant has opal, blue Peruvian opal, turquoise, serpentine, amazonite, and little silver spacers in it. I think I need to scan it. :) It reminds me a bit of the necklace Lauren and Caitlin gave me, appropriately enough. (I'll be able to wear those earrings and the turquoise earrings from Lyz in oh...six months.)
I have a decently strong feeling that I'll need more serpentine and turquoise soon. I can deal with that. :) (Serpentine is my symbol of the New Department - more broadly, the legacy/continuity. Turquoise is my symbol of mentoring. These things happen. May they happen more!)
