Usually when I get parcels I get a little note slipped in my mailbox telling me that they were unable to deliver and could I come and pick it up. (Policy now for apartment blocks)
I went to pick up my mail, which had been accumulating a bit, this evening and found, along with the letter telling me my Rudd Dollars should now be in my bank account (which I'd actually looked at earlier and they are :) ) two parcels! That were just small enough to fit in my letterbox and thus actually get delivered! Without having to go get them!
So I am now the happy owner of:
Gaelic Verbs: Systemised and Simplified by Colin Mark
(I'd meant to pick this up when I was in the UK last year but forgot in the chaos of leaving SMO) thanks to bookdepository.co.uk which had it at a reasonable price. Especially with the Free Shipping. So something good came out of amazonfail after all.
Also arrived was my CD of the audiobook of Local Custom by Sharon Lee and Steve Miller (read by Michael Shanks) I plumped for the 1 CD mp3 version rather than the multiple CD version as I am usually happy with reasonable mp3 quality. I love the Liaden universe, and now I have a version I can listen to while doing tedious stuff.
Considering I ordered the audiobook from the US shortly before Swancon and the Gaelic Verbs shortly after Swancon that's not bad timing for getting them at all at all.
I may be tempted into getting more stuff from at least one of those sources. Ah well, I've got my Ruddbucks, though I think some of that will go towards Adelaide
The only downside is I've got some marking which is way overdue and I'm not going to let myself look at them until it is done. Good incentive though.
