Today had its ups and downs. I didn't quite get my steps done. Not even with my new, more conservative goal, but I was only 500 steps short. I would have got it if I hadn't sat down when I got home, but I had had a busy day.
I got in to work and started working on the marking of the labs, which I considered to be my next critical thing. I now only have one assignment not marked for that unit, which is good, and it's not due back for at least another week, so I think I will focus for the rest of the week on quizzes for the energy efficient building unit and getting the next study period for the general physics unit ready to go. As that will be starting in, oh, 2 and a bit weeks. And they probably want the unit set up in a week and a half. Which means I need to figure out how I'm going to get people to mark it, how I'm going to write the assignments and how we're going to sort things out. Which overall does mean I get to do a fair amount of work. Which is about normal.
I did pause however for lunch, since I had promised my mum that I would take her out to lunch this week. This was partly because of mother's day (which I did spend with her but...) and partly because I got a voucher, and what the heck. So we went for lunch to the Pickled Fig and had a lovely meal. The sky was blue, the sun was warm, and it was a very nice meal.
Though I did notice something weird later tonight, which I don't think had to do with the lunch, but for some reason a phishing email that came through pretending to be from paypal and threatening terrible things if I didn't update my details, (like shutting down my account) was very odd, partly of course because it didn't get sent to the account that I use for paypal, but because for some reason the link that appeared in the hover text (since I'm not so dumb as to just click links like that) appeared to be pointed at a mailer redirect thing on the fig website. I hope they haven't been hacked, though it might explain where the phishers got my email address. I've tried sending them a message and submitted it to scamwatch, but apart from that it's just the usual 'delete' for the phishing email.
After my lunch I returned to work and did the rest of the labs. All labs marked! and marks uploaded! So that's all good. Though I do get frustrated sometimes. Especially since I do tell them, do the calculations yourself. If your partner makes a stupid calculation error and yours is exactly the same, (and I can tell with labs who was partnered with whom just from the data) then it is pretty clear you were ignoring my 'please do this on your own' bit. At least as far as I can tell the discussion and conclusions which was worth 50% of the lab was done individually. If not with total comprehension of the science involved.
After that was all done, and this was well into 'evening' by this point, since I figured I owed a few hours since I'd ducked out for lunch, I did a bit of ingress type stuff on campus and eventually toddled home to have a light supper and catch up on some TV. Hence the not moving after I got home. Though I did get some exercise. I'm walking nearly as far as it's possible to walk and still park on campus. And I did make a bit of a trek to one of the slightly more out of the way portals.
Then of course I got slightly distracted, but at least my dishes are done. My habits are done and I hope very shortly to get this finished, and get to bed. I suspect breakfast tomorrow will be very light. Partly because I am nearly out of milk and forgot to get some on the way home. But that's OK because tomorrow is the morning tea day. So I won't starve. And my Wiifit this morning was slightly down so that was a nice thing. Weight that was, my scores were about average for the yoga I do.
Still got a couple of things I could do, but they are not urgent and can wait till tomorrow. Or later.
