Well, my typing may be a bit slower than usual tonight. I was going great guns until I was heading home after an ASFDAP session and the cat there took exception to me moving my computer bag to put my computer away and managed to claw my pinkie nicely. No actual blood but I cleaned it out and put on some stuff and put on a band aid, so it's the band aid that is slowing it down a little.
Well, today I got up, and I went down and checked the pool and swam and did note that the pool people had indeed been in for the sort of weekly service, so the pool level was good and the leaves etc were less evident in the bottom of the pool. Up to 20 laps today! Tomorrow I stay home and mark the diagnostics since I'm expecting a package. Hopefully the delivery people will have my phone number since the buzzer for my place is a bit on the fritzy side. Still. Maybe I'll leave a note out there in the morning. If I can find any blu tack. Might have to go the sticky tape way.
I've managed to complete the something or other. I got distracted there for a moment. Ah yes. I have completed the solutions guide for the first assignment, so in the morning when I'm more awake I'll upload the assignment for the students, and the tutor's pack for the tutors and that will be good.
I was attempting to do some drawing on my iPad and use that for the diagrams. But the attempts to email it to myself didn't really work. Possibly because I was on the work wifi but trying to send email from home account. So I've no idea what happened to those attempts. It thinks it sent them, but I didn't get them. An attempt to send from home without a photo went through OK. Just trying one with an image now. As it happens I found I could use google drive as an intermediary. Although I suppose I could have got them off the pad via the computer I had at work from home (since I was going to ASFDAP) but that would have been even more fiddly. Got it now anyway.
So things to do this week, work on course I'm enrolled in. Go through diagnostics. Start writing Assignment 2. Attend meetings. And stuff. Including some farewells.
Consider night shopping. Dismiss idea.
I think I'm the most apathetic towards the silly season this year than I have been for many a year. I suspect friends will get gifts if either I see something that screams 'them' or if they've given me a list to work off. And if I find it. Which I may, or I may not. I'm not quite sure that I care really any more. I certainly don't really care about getting gifts any more. I've got pretty much all that I need at the moment, and for the things that I want in general I can afford to get them myself. Which is not quite the same thing as saying I'd throw people's gifts back in their faces if they did give me one, just that I'm not fussed if I don't get given stuff.
And I'm getting maudlin, which is partly tiredness, and partly hormones, and partly time of year. Sleep will help. Chocolate might also but I've already brushed my teeth, and I can't be stuffed brushing them again, so no sweets for me right now. (Got dentist appointment next week so no acting up there. Checkup only. Will be interesting to see new one as previous dentist apparently now practicing out of a different location. And no, it's not near enough to transfer. To be honest generally he came in, peered at my teeth, peered at any x-rays that were done and declared them all good pretty much every visit. So overall it shouldn't make a huge difference.
On the positive side my habits are continuing. I have done the dishes, the bench is wiped, the items of mail that came in this week have been dealt with and filed. The very belated medicare claims that I put in after finding the stuff for them as part of the filing were surprisingly rapidly dealt with and money appeared in my account amazingly quickly.
I've been doing my music practice, perhaps not long sessions but regular. I've started checking and dealing with any uncatalogued books on my niche shelves. And I did go to the gym today.
Sleep will help.
