Ooh, this is lovely. Beautifully written. I like the use of the second person - very original. Also difficult to make work properly, and yet you've done a great job. It makes it more personal and more immediate somehow. Delicious.
Oh, I adored this! Though possibly, I just have a giant Arthur-knows-about-Merlin's-magic kink that this fic fulfilled perfectly. :D Lovely writing, great story.
Oy, this was fantastic! I really like the form you've written in. Second person is rarely used, and if it's mostly not pretty good written, but this piece is fantastic. I already said that, eh?! Yeah, well, I'm still a bit speechless. *g*
Hahaha I am INFECTING YOU, Miss second-person-and-using-colons-to-begin-sections.
This was adorable and I am so looking forward to being able to write ridiculous drabbles for this show one day.
You learn things to control them hit me right in that part of me that got freaked out by 'the naming of things', which if you consider the titles of these two fics is not particularly surprising (Koschei, Arthur, controlling everything up to and including the ones you love, please let me be better). I think you've found a hint of that fic's power-and-secrets dynamic in Merlin, and that + Arthurian hijinks, obviously = why it's grabbed you so vividly.
PPS - This entire sentence -- You hold him and you don't even like him that much but he belongs here and it is your right and without him you would be dead. -- is the best part of it because it's such a perfect balance between emotion and possession and entitlement (mmm my favourite) and dorky teenage boy style affection. YAY.
Ahaha, you have NO IDEA. I mean, I think this fic exists at all because I read the Narnia fic and went, "Now I want to write something! Hey, look, Arthur wears armor like Peter's. NOW I AM INSPIRED." And it just turned up in second person, like the sneaky thing it is. I tried to make it third to see if it worked better and then it stopped working at all.
Now I am imagining Koschei, King of the Britons, and it is scary. But I think I do like Merlin for a lot of the same reasons I like Who (which means the BBC is Doing It Right, cos it's for the same slot and everything); and yay, you have explained why I have written fic for something I have known for THREE DAYS. \o/
