a super exciting news round-up

Just a few things I've been meaning to say, but never really thought were important enough for a full post. (Or I was just feeling lazy.)

On Saturday Night I went to see Brainiac Live. For those who do not know, this is the sort of crazy shit that happens on Brainiac: Science Abuse:

.... yes. Well, it was great - many, many, many explosions. It also featured a man strapped to a swivel chair, being spun round and round. With rockets. Also, they played Starlight at the start (amongst other things), which made me stupidly happy.

I am now the proud owner of one of those yellow Brainiac T-shirts. A little on the large side, but hey.

Hoping to go to Edinburgh some time soon seeing as it's the holidays. I've only ever been to Edinburgh once, and that was sort of by accident anyway. I'm not exactly sure where we're planning to go - the castle, probably (never went last time due to the huuuge queue), and I'd love to return to that Camera Obscura place we visited instead. What shops do they have in Edinburgh? Shops that I'd be interested in, I mean. Waterstones and Forbidden Planet, that's all I know. And the shops full of tartan tourist tat. They are everywhere.

My mum thinks we're insane (it's just me and my dad) for wanting to go. "Edinburgh?? In February??" Yes, it'll be cold. I actually hope it does snow, because, well, it would make for some lovely photos. But not so much that it delays the trains or anything.

I visited WHSmith the other day, and bought loads of those Leckie & Leckie Study Guides that our teachers are always pestering us to get. I already had some, but, well, you can never have too many. Bought the Computing Studies one, which I do actually need, but also the Biology one and the Physics one, because I see them as being helpful if I manage to take them in the next two years. Physics looks, um, hard, but it's really all just maths. I also bought Barack Obama's autobiography, Dreams From My Father, and it turned out if you bought that, you also got The Audacity of Hope free :D I've read about a third of DFMF, and it's great so far. Those two were numbers one and two on their paperback chart thing, but they were followed by Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn :\ I have no idea how they got into the adult section.
...
Urk. I just discovered this. Numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 7 and 8. That's ridiculous.

Thinking of changing my layout. This one is pretty, but hard to read, and you can only tell if something's a link if you hover the cursor over it.

Also - heads up, Party Animals was repeated on BBC 4 last night and is up on iPlayer, for all who might be interested...
(It's very good, by the way. The TARDIS is in safe hands.)
