I know I've been gone a while...lots of real-life stuff to deal with. But I'm back now, and hopefully I won't get lazy about posting.
Semi-recent life updates:
- My school's play was a success - everyone was amazing, and my non-dancer dancers performed beautifully. I'm so proud of the entire cast and crew for their hard work and dedication. And I appreciate the bouquet of roses (the nicest flowers I've ever received were from an underage male student...*sigh* Kinda depressing, but also very sweet.) and gift they gave me.
- The science fair - I survived it. My students survived it. Enough said.
- The prom - I somehow managed to get myself in, and I had a ball. It was a lot of fun to see all the juniors and seniors all dressed up, acting like adults...well, almost acting like adults. An added bonus was the fact that I also got to dress up...and I danced the night away like some kind of crazy woman. Wonderful.
- The gala - an overblown, overpriced school event to be sure...but teachers got to go for free, and it was another opportunity for me to get dressed up. My dress was absolutely gorgeous: long and flowing with a low back, composed of different colors of blue. I love it with all my heart. The cleavage was a bit much - the "girls" certainly came out that night - but it was classy nonetheless...
- Graduation - my first freshman all grown up...I was so nostalgic. Especially when the student speaker, who I unfortunately never had the opportunity to teach because he entered the school sophomore year, managed to fit me into his speech. I am eternally embarrassed, but grateful...sometimes I feel like a ghost, like no one notices my contributions. He did, and I truly appreciate it.
- My turtle - yes, I got a turtle. A month later he died. RIP Darwin. You were a good little pet.
- The end of the 2007-2008 school year - I'm freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. At least for a couple months. Um...except I still have to go in and take down my posters and stuff. But I have a couple of months to enjoy a much needed break...time I can use to recharge and build up hope that I can make a difference in young people's lives...
- The apartment - my latest quest...to find an apartment and finally move out. The search has been slow, but I have faith. My goal is to find something by the end of the week.
Movies I absolutely, positively can't wait to see (in no particular order):
- WALL-E
- The Dark Knight
- Clone Wars
- Get Smart
- Hamlet 2
Oh...and below I've included the "official" trailer for the new "Wolverine and the X-Men" series. Totally awesome.
