There's nothing like getting a phone call at 5:40am letting you know that school is canceled...nothing. Except when the voice on the automated message is that of your crush...and then he texts you an hour an a half later to discuss why school is closed even though it hasn't started snowing yet.
*longing sigh*
Ever since I made my big declaration several weeks ago (
see my previous post) - which was pretty much a rambling e-mail about how I truly care about him, and like him for exactly who he is - we've been texting pretty frequently...and he's usually the one to start the conversation. And when I start it, it still tends to last a decent amount of time. So I'm watching us evolve into something more, but I still can't figure out if we're just becoming close friends, or if he's seriously considering taking a chance on me. Either way, it's a good thing...but I just wish I knew which it was.
Anyway, this was supposed to be our last day before Christmas break...so I don't have to go back to school until JANUARY 5!!!!!!
Wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooohooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And I am satisfied with what I did manage to accomplish before today - handed out all my Christmas cards to friends at school, gave a test yesterday, and handed out directions on a project/midterm exam review to my students. So I'm set. Today would have been an easy day (we were going to watch the portion of the Discovery Channel's "Planet Earth" about jungles), so it's a bit of a shame that we wasted a snow day...but still. I was done for the year, so there's nothing for me to worry about. :-)
Oh...I almost forgot...here's the latest and greatest on my attempted "girlilness" - Got tips...they have survived the week unscathed. I'm seriously considering keeping them. Got my hair cut on Wednesday...in layers. It's cute I guess...all the kids couldn't get over how "pretty" I look now. The problem is that it requires daily maintenance, and I'm not about the whole blow drying and clipping and curling deal. I let it air dry last night, and it looks ok, but I'm going to have to make more of an effort if I want it to look "cute." I just have to get used to it...
And now that I have some free time (although I need to write out all my non-school related Christmas cards, finish the last assignment for my excessively stupid, super annoying on-line interactive whiteboard [or "SmartBoard"] class, and clean my apartment), I will relax by doing a meme. For your viewing pleasure...

There you go...I have apparently seen many movies...and it appears that I own very few. That's true, I guess...that's because most of the ones I own aren't on the list.
And, by the way, in case anyone was wondering...it started snowing about 10am. It doesn't seem too bad yet, but it's supposed to get really heavy between 12 and 3pm...
I suppose I should try to actually get some stuff done today...
