Statement

My family and me have been gay right activists our whole lives.  I have cousins and aunts and uncles who are as old as my mother and who couldn't be any gayer because it'd simply impossible. My sister came out of the closet and has lived with the same person for twenty years (20, go figure).  I was the type of person who would kick someone ass (literally) for saying as much as "your sister is a lesbian" and say it as if it were contagious or as if it made her less a person.

I've fought so many fucking battles on behalf of others, on behalf of my own family, on behalf of my likes after being a pervert for liking slash; that I've just said, enough is enough.

If you want to start a riot, a boycott; to grab someone by the hair, yell, protest, make your own adds, call out for people to follow you, start a campaing at the UN, or the Congress or whatever; go ahead.  Just because I don't fight my battles anymore the way you may do it, doesn't mean that I fight them any less.  However, I've seen so many forms of segregation return to the ones who were once segregated, that it does make me wonder when discrimination starts for a group or for the other.

I've made these kinds of statements so many times, that what you, dear friend, wrote on my LJ offended me, for I thought you might have known me a little.

Sorry but no, I don't think people should be allowed to post hatred messages and sell the idea that just because people are out of the be-a-heterosexual norm are less valid as people, or sick or sub humans.

I don't think it is valid to support people who claim that the homosexuals out there are pedophiles and don't have/deserve any rights.

I don't believe people should be denied their free speech right.

I don't think that hate dialogue is part of free speech and I certainly don't think it isn't as much as being of the level of the prejudgers.

I do believe however, that other people's free speech right goes as far as my own, and vice versa; and that just because I don't agree with the way some people react to the kinds of adds LJ has/had around, doesn't mean that I agree with them.

I do think there are better, more effective ways of fighting for what you believe is right. That's part of the human spirit.  Thank God.

I can't work more pro gay rights because I'm not gay myself.  Sorry...I'm just me.

Like me, hate me; right now that's not important, and I couldn't really care any less.
